Documentary-Style Sports Podcast Production

Feels like everyone’s got a podcast these days, right? But when Aileen Sokol (VP, Content Partnership Development at NBC Sports )slid into our inbox before Tokyo 2020, asking if we wanted to help create and produce NBC Olympics’ official podcasts, we took two seconds to reply:HELL YES. (Yes, we were yelling.) Thing is, anyone can launch a podcast. But cranking out episodes, week after week, on-location at the world’s biggest sporting events? That’s a different beast. Fast forward to now—3 Olympics later (bonjour from Paris!)—we’ve dropped 116 episodes of The Podium, telling the stories behind the medals, the moments, and the madness.
