A Doc done different

"Whether it's DJs, MC's or breakdance battling it’s always the same thing. It’s the way you can get in the mind and evoke the emotion of the one you're competing with." - Busta Ryhmes. Pushing Progression: Breaking showcases the beats, breaks, and battles through the lens of the event that has come to define the art form: Red Bull BC One.

Authentic Star Appeal

What's the secret sauce? One of the key ingredients in the Pushing Progression series is an outside POV on the sport. The art is in finding a personality that makes a viewer want push play AND who can also authentically speak to the sport and the progression. Throw in the (inevitable) budget considerations and you've got an interesting creative puzzle. And then there's Busta. That guy? Pure authenticity and perspective. Having him to help with the storytelling immediate upped our game

What types of sports properties does Boombox work with?
Saint-Sauveur, Quebec
+-

Boombox works with a broad range of sports properties, from global tier-one organizations to emerging leagues looking to build their first broadcast infrastructure. Past and current partners include X Games (20+ events), Olympic broadcasters (3 Games), Red Bull, USA Swimming, Crankworx World Tour, and UEFA. We're particularly experienced with properties that sit at the intersection of competition and creator culture, alt sports, action sports, gaming leagues, and challenge formats, where the audience is digitally native and the content needs to perform on social as much as on broadcast.

Is Boombox a global production partner for Red Bull?
Saint-Sauveur, Quebec
+-

Yes. Boombox is one of Red Bull’s top global production partners, trusted to deliver live broadcasts, documentary series, and creator-led content across multiple regions and formats. Our long-standing relationship spans sports, gaming, and adventure projects, with Boombox supporting Red Bull Media House through end-to-end production, post-production, and platform-ready storytelling worldwide.

Can brands fund competition content without it feeling like a campaign?
Saint-Sauveur, Quebec
+-

Yes, and this is one of the most important creative challenges we solve. The key is that the competition has to be real. Real stakes, real tension, real outcomes. Brands that try to manufacture jeopardy or cast creators as props end up with content that audiences reject immediately. Boombox's approach ensures the brand's involvement enhances the competition rather than compromising it, the brand funds the stakes, enables the format, and earns authentic association with the energy. Red Bull is the gold standard for this globally, and it's a model we've applied across multiple brand partnerships.

What makes Boombox different from a traditional sports production company?
Saint-Sauveur, Quebec
+-

Traditional sports production companies are built for broadcast-first, scale-first environments; big crews, big trucks, established formats. Boombox is built for the internet. We understand competition mechanics and creator culture in equal measure, which means we can make a League of Legends championship feel as compelling on TikTok as it does on a live stream, and we can make a Red Bull action sports series feel native to the platforms fans actually scroll through. We also bring strategic thinking, not just execution, we help clients figure out what to make and why, not just how to shoot it.
