With the massive success of competitive League of Legends it could have been safe to stick to the formula, but instead the team at Riot Games reached out to us to help inject a new energy into the launch of the LCS Spring Split. Together we established four main KPIs for the hero piece: 1) Showcase the NA league's new glow-up 2) Celebrate players & personalities 3) Radiate a fresh energy and 4) Integrate the highs/lows of the LCS Journey.

KEEPING IT CORE

From the jump, goal #1 of this piece was to celebrate and connect player’s personalities with key storylines from previous LCS seasons. The creative process was a combo of ideas from the Boombox side combined with narrative hot sauce from the internal Riot Team. The final creative had us mixing with blinged out CGI jewelery with tattoos that hinted to storylines. One of the big wins (amongst many!) was licensing the music track - which was clutch for conveying the vibe we were all going for. High fives for everyone! The consensus from fans online was that we dropped the mic (50K likes > 2 days), creating something that rallied the base, crushed the KPI’s and that turned out even cooler than the original plan.
